Then tho vnpor from tbe heated oil accumulated in the unfilled portion of tho vessel takes Are, nd an explosion follows: , A filled lamp, therefore, nevor explodes, because there is no chanco for an accumu lation of explotWo gas. A partly filled lamp will not oxplodo un less it becomes considerably lioiUod. To prevent a lamp from becoming heated, keep it well cleaned. The air holes below tho burner should always be kept opon.
