Very Bashful. [Newspaper Article] — The Campbelltown Herald — 25 May 1898

Very Bashful. ' IMITATION is Ihe SlNOEKEST PiATTEEr.' The articles tnOBt imitated are CLEMENTS TONIC and fletchee's fills. WHY? BECAUSE they have the best reputation and are most in deeiand by tbe public, conse quently every dishonest trader tries to trade on their fam» and renown. It is really wonderful that tbe Australian people are so slow to see the truth as regards the unscrupulous quacks and charlatans who prey on the credulity of the Australian pnb lie. Scarcely a week ever pauses but what the press exposes the barefaced and shameful prac tices, of some of these harpies, yet, jo face of all they seem to thrive, and the paper that hounds them down most thrives fattest on their advertisements and cracks champagne over each balance-sheet. Clements Tonic' and Fletcher's Fills have never yet stooped to de ception and mrercpresentation. They'are scien tific! therapeutical agents, and evidence as to their value can be found in every district, and such being the case it is unnecessar...

The Milk Supply Question. [Newspaper Article] — The Campbelltown Herald — 25 May 1898

The Milk Supply Question. A. muting of milk suppliers was held at Wol long on Friday week last to consider the pre sent unsatisfactory Btate of the milk trade, re presentatives being present from all parts of the district and as far sooth as Kiama. Mr. C. J. Cnllen, president of the United Milk Suppliers' Association, presided. The whole question was discussed at length, all -of the speakers agreeing that the price at present paid by tbe Sydney milk companies was altogether too low, many contending that it would pay suppliers better to send their milk to the factories. It was pointed out that, owing to the recent severe weather, the yield of milk was consider ably diminished, and wonld be still further re duced as the winter advanced. It was the generally-expressed opinion that prices should be advanced to 7Jd or 7£d per gallon. A resolution was moved to the effect that a deputation consisting of the president (Mr. C. J.
