INDIANAPOLIS, MAY 29, 1817. "The Saddle placed on I lie right Horse." Hardly ever have we seen a more infamous article than that which appeared in the Indiana Journal of April 30, under the above liead. There is hardly a sentence in it that is not the offspring of falsehood and toryism of the worst kind. The person who penned it, whoever he is, would not hesitate to betray his country by OTcrtacts of treason, if he had a chance. In any other country but this, he would already have earned and enjoyed a holler. In this, he should suffer tho penalty of a moral" gibbet at least. The main object of the writer is to convey to ignoraut whig the idea that our generals in the field are all whijrs, none democrats; and upon this barefaced lie to find apparent justification for the utterance of atrocious slanders against our own government, and the democratic party. Wc give a specimen of his lying assertions, to wit: Upon what rugged moantaia tide or gory plain did your democratic file leadebs ...
