A Uniform Breeder No better sire than the above mentioned boar has ever been used at Sunnyside Farm , Lamine , Mo . I have used such great boars , as Lord Robin , Lord Lee and Cock Robin , but for a uniform breeder of fine pigs , Cock Robin is without doubt the equal of any boar I have ever used on my farm . Breeders who are familiar with Lord Robin , Lord Lee and Cock Robin realize that I am making a strong statement , but I can prove beyond any question of a doubt that Count Robin is the equal and , in a great many respects , the superior of any of these boars . My sows are rich in the blood of Lord Lee , Masterpiece , Premier Duke , Baron Duke 125 th , Baron Duke 92 d and other world famous boars . I have bred Berkshires for over a quarter of a century . It s a lot of fun to be around people who have good dispositions . It s just as much fun to be around animals with good dispositions , and that is where most Berkshire men get their real fun out of life . There is no use talking , the Berkshire has a disposition that a woman—or man either—could well be jealous of . The Berkshire is a prince of good fellows . Most farmers dont know this though . We are going to introduce the two parties every day in every state in the Union through the Futurity Show plan .

Hog Notes—By a Practical Hog Man [Newspaper Article] — Berkshire World and Cornbelt Stockman — 1 November 1910
Hog Notes—By a Practical Hog Man Regarding the Berkshire Futurity Show . I believe this Futurity business will prove a good thing In the Berkshire Shows as well as it has proven in the horse business . I think , however , that breeders should nominate only the highest class of sows they own and of course their best aires used in the herd . There is no doubt in my mind that the offsprings from such nominations if good individually will be worth more money than those not nominated . We are already receiving some inquiries for pigs eligible to the 1911 Futurity Shows . By the Futurity plan breeders can build up a class of animals such as are registered in other breeds of live stock in what is known as the advanced registry . Of course it is easy to decide whether dairy cows are entitled to registration in the advanced registry by their milk and butter records ; no such thing can be done in the breeding of hogs In any other way as I can see except through the nomination of the better cl...
