Itodjrcrs and a Mr. Spence at Sulphur Springs station, about twenty-five miles from Camp Bowie and say eighteen from their agency. On the morning of the 8th, a scout of forty men under Lieut. Hen. y, two citizens and four Indians fol lowed the Indians into San Pedro val ley and relumed to .Bowie on the 11th, having neither killed uor captured any Indians or stock stolen by the Apa ches. Since the decision of Judge French, unconcernedly announcing the impo tence of his legal power in the face of a. notorious attempt at crime and fraud, we have seen the opinion of a promt nent limb of the law to the following effect: If the census returns front Yavapai county are fraudulent,, or if there be ltoss error in such returns, the show ing sliould be made to the Secretary of the Territory, who in the last re sort is alone authorized to verify, that is, to canvass, the returns.
