Holloway'8 Pius and Ointment. — Rheumatism and Gout. — These purifying and soothing remedies deserve the earnest attention of all persons liable to gout, sciatica, or other painful affections of the muscles, nerves, or joints. The Ointment should be applied after the affected parts have been patiently fomented with warm water, when the' ointment should bo iligently rubbed upon the adjacent-skin unless- tihe friction causes pain. Hollo ?way's Pills should be simultaneously taken, to diminish pain, reduce. inflammation, and purify tho blond. This treatment abates the violence, and lessens the frequency of gout, rheumatism, and all spasmodic diseases which, spring from hereditary predisposition, or from any accidental weakness of constitution. The Ointment checks the local malady, while the Pills restore vital power.

What Invention has done. [Newspaper Article] — The Shoalhaven News and South Coast Districts Advertiser — 7 March 1891

Wlut Lrwatioa has done. What has invention dono ? Well, this will serve as an example merely. It used to take by old methods, as compared with inventions now used, five times as much labour in boot-making, four times as tnuoh in flour-making, three-times as much in coal-mining, six times as much in making tin cans, three times as tnuoh in carriage making, and ten times as many looms can now be managed by one weaver. At a iilrer mine in Nevada a stream of water falling 460ft. is made to turn a water wheel, mid gives 900 horse-power. Tho same stream is carriod down another 1680ft., and, is caught on six water-wheels, giving off 760 horae-powor, whioh by means of electricity is conveyod to the surface, and runs a 60-Btnmp battery. It is hy the same inventions — the water wheel and. eleorricity— that the great task of using Niagara is about to be effectod. Only 4 per cent, of the water will be used ; it will not be noticeable, but that quantity will supply 120,000 horse power. The power...
