CARLYLE'S HOUSE [Newspaper Article] — The Wyalong Star and Temora and Barmedman Advertiser — 25 May 1894

OARLYLE'S HOUSE Chelsea seems, all in all, to be a rather lively neighborhood to live in. An occu pant of Carlyle's house was summond a Uttle time ago for keeping a menagerie in that classio dwelling. She had ever so many dogs and cats about, which she kept to the infinite annoyance of her neighbors. It is a well known fact that when Carlyle him self lived there, he could not get to sleep because of the Growings of a cock m a .morning, and the sage replied, as everybody 'knows, that it was not the orowing of the cjok that annoyed him, but the waiting for it to crow, bo, all in all, Chelsea seems determined to keep up its reputation as a noisy part of the metropolis to live in. — E. Bollard.

The name lotus has ueeu given to several beau tiful specimens of water-lily, especially to the blue water-lily and the Egyptian water lily. - L. Lyons.
