Damaging Property.-Ellon Wilson, otherwise Bentley, was summoned for wilfully breaking the windows of William McNamara. Mr. Walker appeared for the defence. Mrs. McNamara de posed that Bhe lost sixpence in the gutter in front of defendant's house, and after searching for it for some time, the defendant came out, used bad language towards hor, and then gave her tlio money. She continued abusive, and ultimately broke complainant's windows. For. the defencej defendant's daughter Btated that her mother went to bed at seven o'clock in tho evening on which the offence was committed, and did not go out again until the following morning, but this state ment was contradicted. Drunkenness.-Peter Roche, charged "with being drunk and disorderly, was fined 5s., with the alternative of twenty-four hour hours' impri sonment. Absconding from the Sulks.-William Quirk, a boy, was charged with absconding from the hulk "Deborah." It appeared that; the-prisoner, ac companied by three or four other boys belonging to tho hulk, were ordered into a small boat to row Mr. Gardiner, the superintendent, ashore, and instead; of returning with the boat, after doing so, they took it down towards the Brighton Beach where they left it.
