FARMERS' ITEMS. [Newspaper Article] — Coleraine Albion and Western Advertiser — 12 January 1914

FARMERS' ITEMS. The crops in the Kochester, dis trict, wore somewhat rod need this year through rust, and some of those in the Horsham district have lately been adversely affected by the heat. A correspondent to an exchange, supplies valuable information 011 how to treat horses that have eaten wheat —a common occurence 011 farms at this time of the year. Six other horses similarly affected were treated the same, with complete success. Baking soda is said never to fail if ] administered immediately the horses come out of the wheat. I11 both the above instances the horses were al lowed as much water as they re quired. This is vouched for by a farmer who says I10 has test...

NEW EXHIBIT BY RICHARDS & CO. [Newspaper Article] — Coleraine Albion and Western Advertiser — 12 January 1914

NEW EXHIBIT BY RICHARDS & CO. The holiday display by Richards and Co., of Ballarat, is usually looked forward to with keen interest by the public, as being an exhibition of the very highest achievement inartistic photographing, and it is no exaggera tion to claim that this high standard is perfect!y maintained, if not sur passed, by the magnificent exhibit now in the firm's window. The work of the master-hand is evident in each of tlie beautiful studies, and the com petent critic will discern an artistic progression, for this display is a dis tinct advance upon the last. Each study shows artistic feeling, atmos phere and refinement of treatment, together with dignified yet restful posing, and delicacy and taste in the arrangement, of the background and accessories, not often to be found in photography. In fact these are pictures in the truest sense, made with the aid of the camera. Tlie public should take tlie earliest oppor tunity of viewing these gems of modern art portrai...
