N1EWS IN BiIEF. The weather, on going to press, was not settled. The Riddell's Creek Races were run on Monday. Results are in print in another:column. Detective Syvnnott has been killed by a dynamite outrage in Dublin. A grand ball was held at Toolern last night in the Mechanies' Institute., A concert and ball was given at the Sunbury Mechanics' Hall on Monday night, and proved successful. The Sunbury cricketers entertained the Campberwell players at dinner on Boxing Day. Fresh skating accidents continue to be reported in England, and the number of fatalities is now 30.
