THE WOOL MARKET. [Newspaper Article] — Yea Chronicle — 5 February 1891

TIE WOOL IARKET. Messra. DAucEm and Cour..-r, LniTmED, report on the 2nd February: WooL-At our wool sale to-day, we sub. mitted a fairly representative catalogue of 1,100 bales to a full attendance of buyers. The improvement reported by cable from London, though anticipated and discounted by buyers, has, nevertheless, imported a more buoyant tone to our market, which we now quote about a farthing better than our last sale a fortnight ago. All sections of the trade competed freely, and every description of wools participated in the im provement As usual, at this period of the season, our catalogue containedl no really superior wool, but wH realised up to Sd. and 10d. for good greasy merino, t9d. for average crossbred, Is. 31d. for fair country scoured, and Is. 21d. for ordinary washed merino. Including private sales, we cleared practically the whole catalogue.
