The railroad case being the laatefle ready for trial during the week, the ether jurors were discharged yesterday after noon. The case of Abraham E. Letig and husan E. Leng vs. the Pennsylvania rail- ieaa company, occupied the attention of the court the whole of yesterday afternoon and this morning. The jury were charged shortly before 12 o'clock and they retired before adjourning time. In the exceptions te the auditor's re port in Jehn Stcfly's assigned estate, the court delivered an opinion sustaining the exception te the auditor's fee and te the auditor allowing the assignee interest en the money of the assigned estate paid by the creditors of the assigned estate, en ac count of their claim in deducting the inter est from the dividend awarded these credi tors. Helders of the '79 crop feel that the season is approach ing -when speculation will begin, and therefore are selling their '78 at prices which, if they leave no profit, at least oc casion no less. Tobacco buying in Penn sylvania has again become a little lively, though the prices that are paid range from about 10 te 15 cents for wrappers, 4 te 6 cents for seconds and 2 te 3 cents for fillers. Our county commissioners are engaged in the threes of an effort te equalize the taxable values of the county, but they de net seem te appreciate the magnitude of the job they have undertaken, and they are likelv te leave it in a worse state than they have found it. There is no doubt at all that real eslate is very unequally valued net only by the different assessors but even by the same assessor. It is a very difficult thing te determine the value of even- piece of real estate in a district, and te put upon each one its "proper rate.
