The follovin;old verses, respecting a scene at a convivial meeting of English military officers in East India during the fearful fever epidemic in that country, have often been published, though no author has been found to claim them. Another account represents them as having teen written by an officer of a man-of-war wrecked on the African coast, where nearly all died of the plague before succor reached them.
