William Gardner gave an exhi­ bition of anew arm of his invention to the officers of the United States Navy stationed at the torpedo station jester day. This arm is not to be coun ed with other inventions of Capt. Gardner which have been seen or heard of by the public, but is his latest, completed, and now for the first time seen by any other than himself and workmen. This arm pro­ duced a marked sensation among the of­ ficers and other gentlemen present, among whom were several distinguished foreigners. Among the officers present at the exhibition were Capt. K. R. Breeze, comm£iding the torpedo station Capt. Selfridge, Capt, Norton and Capt. Bunce of the United States navy. The unani­ mous expression of the gentlemen pres­ ent was that this weapon combined all the good qualities of other arms yet...
