These hitherto almost neglected hills are now swarming with prospectors. Sliver leads havo been discovered assaying from teu to three hundred dollars to the ton. A sliver lead now being developed by Messrs. f hlstlewaite and Harvey, lias pro duced rook whichyielded from $112 to $350 to the ton. An assay made of some rock from a recent discov ery gave $500 in gold and $10 in silver to the ton. The Black Star coal rniue is an established success, and a force of men is continually em ployed sinking a shaft and taking out coal for shipment. Messrs. Huntington & Wright, of Orange, have discovered in Freinout canyon a vein of coal twenty feet lv thickness.
