He has just put up a new steam-power printing-press, which was manufactured to order with an especial view to improve the mechanical appearance of the Paper, lie has contracted with a new firm to fur nish a better atttele of paper than has here tofore been used. As before stated, con nections between the two lines may be effected hereafter. St. Louis can connect with the southern line by the South-East branch of the Fucific. California and Oregon can build their north and south valley read if they tee proper, and in either case, if the wants of the country demand these comparatively local roads, the General Government will doubtless lend her powerful aid.
