It is refreshing, even in cold weather, to notice the 'unction with which the President congratulates himself and the country generally, upon the benifi cient results that have followed the ap plication of the administration policy to the territories particularly to Kan sas. ' lie says, "much has been done, I am happy to say, towards the accomplish ment of this object, (id est, the "settle ment of the .Slavery question,) during the last session of Congress. "The Supreme Court of the United States had previously decided, that the American citizens have an equal right to take into the .Territories, whatever is held as property under the laws of any of the States, and to hold such property there under the guardianship of the federal constitution, so long as the territorial condition shall remain. Confession of a Table Mover. George P. Paine, the Spiritual Medi um, admits that he is , humbug Th& "razor strop man"? in a circle hoio the phenomena mere produced. For a long time Mr. George P. Paine, of Worcester, Mass., has been known as a powerful "physical raedinm," and his achievements in the line of table moving .have converted hundreds of people to Spiritualism, and been argu ments in the mouth of its believers. His demonstrations were not in the dark, like those of the Davenport boy., but under a full blaze of gas, or in broad daylight. lie has made tables move apparently without human con tact, to the comfort ot believers and the confounding of skeptics. The Worcester Spy, of the 20th of Uctober, contained an account of one of his exhibitions, in which the table was so moved, and "Yankee Doodle" rapped on it in good style, in time with the whistling ot a gentleman present. From time to time "reliable mediums" saw spirits hovering round Mr. Paine, and he was in a fair w...
