Goode, of 8., Wheeler, Kilby, Rutherfoord, Townes Downing, Jones, of C., Gordon, Imboden, Lewis, Echo!?, Boyd and Stevens. A message was received Trom the Senate, announcing the passage in that body ot a mil authorising a Branch Bank at Boydton, in Mecklenburg county. The people of this city are singularly inattentive to the proceedings of their Council. — We doubt whether one in twenty is aware that that body is about to create a new office, to be Under their control, with doubtless a large salary attached to it,to betaken by taxation from the pockets of the people.
