PERSEVERANCE TENT, I.O.R. The quarterly meeting of the Per severance Tent No. 34 I.O.R. was held on Tuesday evening, May 12th. There was a very large attendance of mem bers ". 'During the evening a large number of ladies from the Princess May-.Tent, South Yarra, paid a "sur prise" visit, and. were very heartily welcomed. A circular from the Friendly Societies' Dispensary raised an interesting discussion on the atti tude of the medical profession to wards friendly societies. The tent re presentative, Bro. J. H. Furneaux, gave a very interesting report of the doings of the annual meeting, for which lie received the thanks of the tent. The officers elected for the ensuing half-year were:-C.R., Bro. G. Lewis; D.I;., Sister A. Mauger; P.C.R., Bro. J. Dodson; secretary, Bro. C. Jansen; treasurer, Bro. Creighton; M.S., Bro. Hinton; W.S., Bro. Kella way; Lev., Bro. R. Hinton; and guardian, Bro. P. Alleged Wilful Damage. Before the Mayor (Cr. O'Donnell), and Messrs. Smithwick, Mahony, and Kidd, J's.P., at the St. Kilda Court on Tuesday, Joseph Steventon charged Mark Lonsdale with having wilfully damaged to the extent cf £5 certain electrical fittings, the property of in formant. Mr. Waxman appeared for infor. mant, and Mr. Brayshay for defendant. The allegation for the prosecution was that informant was conducting picture entertainments at Luna Park, and that on the evening of May 2 de fendant, who is employed at the park as an electrician, was seen to go tc the motor which worked the electrical appliances. The motor started, but shortly afterwards stopped. Fredericl Cobbin, watchman, stated that he san. defendant, who was in company witt another employee named Joseph Bow ron, break wires from the transfor mers, and pull out the two fuses pro duced.
