CHELTENHIAM. On Monday last the Brass Band held a lHuchro Party in the Mechan. ios, The little hall was crowded, and it necessitated th6 unse of one of the back rooms to accommodate all prosent, The first prize for the ladies, was a Box of Tea, and for gents, an Wmbrella, These were won by Mrs Poreston and Mr Wilks respectively, There was considerable comlpetit~ion for the prizes, espeoially for the "Boobies", The only as* sumption in regard to the latter prizes is on account of the President (Mr F. T. LoPago) announcing that they were worth winning, Howover, they turned out to be a "be?utiful" camera (a snake in a box) which was won by Miss Jones, and a Statueno of a "lovely" girl (a niggar) which was won by L. Rippon. The finanoial result was all that could be desired, The half-yearly meeiing of the A.N,A, was hold in the \ieohanios' on Tuesday evening, Mr T, Le Page presiding, The attendance was meagre, and disoouraging to the office-boearers.
