Should Germany go to war with Russia for attacking Austria, the British fleet will at once attack the German fleet, while France co-operates on land. Japan goes with the entente. Gippsland Bacon Company It was the intention of Mr E. J. Muirhead, representative of the Gippsland Bacon Co. in Western Australia, to deliver an address to the shareholders of the Stony Creek Butter Factory, on Friday last at the annual meeting, but owing to an adjournment he h;id to leave by train before speaking. He left the following address, which was read by the Chairman of Director at the meeting :— ■ "During the past season I opened up a branch of the Gipps land and Northern Selling Com pany in Western Australia, and am pleased to report that the Dandenong bacon has obtained a very good name on that market. The annual meeting of share holders'in the company was held in the Stony Creek Mechanics Hall on Friday afternoon last, when there was a good attend ance, the chairman of the board of directors, Mr Hugh Eldridge, presiding. The following is a copy of the report and balance sheet presen ted Your directors have pleasure in presenting to you the Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Ac ccount duly audited for the year ended June 30th, 1914, from which it will be seen a nett profit on the year's trading of £466 17s 6d has resulted. In addition to this our selling agents have declared a bonus of £109 12s 3d, of which £108 will be handed to us, in paid up shares, and the balance, £112s 3d, in cash.
