PUBLIC MEETING. [Newspaper Article] — The Sydney Herald — 6 February 1832

PUBLIC MEETING. Our readers will perceive we have given in our present paper, a full and impartial report of the proceedings of the late meeting held at Parramatra, respect- ing- the obnoxious Land Regulations. It is probable that at no distant period, | our present enlightened ruler will pursue such measures, as will render needless any further petition on the subject of land. But should he unfortunately be prevented from abolishing, or modifying the late Land Regulations, and the ruin- ous system of quit rents, under which our Landowners are now suffering in a manner the most distressing, we trust that the Colonists at large, and more particularly our Agriculturists will per- ceive the necessity of coming forward at a time, that will best conduce to the speedy attainment of their most reasona- ble requests. The adjourned meeting on the subject of the Land Regulations, wa3 held in Walker's large loom, Parramatta, on the I8th ult. The number of persons present was not so gi eat as a...
