ONS of those scenes which have made the New South Wales Assembly so notable in its Parliamlentary annals occurred just before the adjournment of the House on Tuesday night. It was a stand up fight between two of the representatives of the people, and while it lasted, which was not for long, the battle was a warm one. Heads were punched, blood was shed, and it was not until one of the combatants was conmpletely " knocked out of time " that the affair was brought to a close, The battle took place in the smok ing.room of the Assembly between tlhe mumn bur for the Upper .lunter, Mr. .M'Elhonoe, and the niemberl for Gloh Innes, Mr. Maths son.
