NAMIOW ESCAPE,-Sir John Robertson, after being engaged at his nffico till a lite hour on Saturday night, found his way to the Circular Quay, intending to take passage in the " I'iuutoui" to Watson's Ray, and in the act of walking along the gangway, "step ped overboard. The old gentleman was heavily clothed, and had some important public documents in his hand, which he stuck In, and struck out to the end of the pier-some 25 feet, where thc engineer and a boy from the steamer assisted him up.
