WAR NEWS. The Fight at Richmond—Our Loss 20,000. 20,000. HEADQUARTERS ARMY OF THE POTOMAC, July 2. Tho following is an account of the batllea fought in front of Richmond on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, being tbrt tith, sixth and Buvetitb days oi tho engagement: On Monday morning the corps of Geueral Sumner and General Fran kliu wer3 left in tho works at Fair Oaks; with instructions to evacuate and protect the baggage and supply trains on their way to JameB River. They had hardly lelt their position, and were fallincr back on the railroad and Williamsburg Turnpike, when ttia rebels discovered the movement, and immediately started in pursuit with thoir wholo force. So rapidly did the rebels approach that our cfflcors had barely time to placo their men iu pomtion to receive them before they were upon them.
