The minutes of the last meeting were read and app: Several bills of polic. officer? i.e. wer? referred. A bill of Iwo deputy sheriffs for taking charge of Jr. Colt, $50 each, was presented. From tbe statement it appears that the sheriff had die irons taken off Col his sentence, ont of friendly leeling**, and these de had charge of the prisoner, and remained Constant'? him, for which they claim the above compensaUon. L-?e was opposed to the bill being pail. If the i thought proper to act in the manner staled, he had no to call upon the city to pay for it ; he did not doubt, ever, bat what tbe deputies performed their duty. Aid.
