'1 The New Orleans Delta enters a protest against the proersiptive views attributed to n it by us in its plan of organizing the ,omno cratic party and uses the following lan guage: Our valued'contemporary and active co- i laborer in the good cause of Democracy has arrived at a conclusion which the pre mises do not Justify, so far as its tinder standing of "the views of the Delta in its efforts to organize the Democratic party" are con.cerned. Tt has never been our desire or intention "to Inakesny period of service in the Democratic party a test of an '- individnhl's admission into that party." Far from it. On the contrary we have specially disclaimed any such purpose and have counseled the very reverse.
