The Into elections show a great revolution ' in public sentiment, and have established, beyond controversy, that the great majority of the people arc in. favor of prosecuting the war to a termination that will redound to tho honor of the Union. The few creatures who have opposed arc overwhelmed in disgrace and shame, and should the question be agitated at the polls, an anti-war man would be nowhere. Whoever i« elected must sustain the war and the country to the consumption of the plan now adopted — the occupation of Mexico . We do not know how far Gen. Taylor is prepared to go on this question, and cannot, therefore, intimate what his prospects for election are.
