BILLIES SPORTS 4 Vol. XXXVI Saturday December 6 1941 No. 9 Hill Billie Bull 'r "BUTt'II"- KNOW YOUR BILLIES Thli has been a definitely dead week bb far aa sport activities have been concerner. so don't blame ui to much if the sport page is mostly adds and filler or hus it become such a custom that you won't notice it? Seriously though when you Just plain don't have any- thing to write about it's hard to think of enough things to say to fill up a page. The final results of our football team were lousy to .say the least. But the prospects for the coming year have definitely taken an up- swing. Out of the 17 lettermen on this year 14 will be here for nest year's contests. That's quite a contrast when Just beside thu three who certainly did more thun their part in the past season who were left from last year. Beside this the tentative schedule for next year will feature a few not-so-hard games at the first of the season. If we do; and there's no reason why we shouldn't; win those; there...

BILLIES SPORTS i Vol. XXXVI Saturday February 14 1942 No. 11 Hill Billie Bull "Br "BUTCH" Our hopes for a top team in this year's basketball conference took quite a spill Tuesday night when the McMurry Indians rang up a surprising unset by defeating the Daniel Baker lads to the tune of a lopsided 51-37 score. That backset lowered the Billies chances of finishing in the top notch almost to the bottom and another defeat would remove even the outside chances of being top team of this year's Texas Conference. Tuesday night's victory was tho first In this year's contests the Indians suffering four defeats at the hands of some of the stronger teams of the conference. However the loss of the game important as It may bo to sta- tistics does not by any means prove that the Billies are out of the running. A succession ot lousy breaks that started with the open- ing whistle and kept going through the game was more the cause of the defeat than the superorlty of the opponents. This year's Baker ...
