How any man in a sound state of mind can favor t'ae Texas (?) & Pacific as against the Southern Pacific, passes our comprehension. The Southern Pacific scheme as set forth in the Johnston bill (Senate 116S) gives to Texas every foot of railroad on the Texas (?) Pacific route that the Mathews* bill (Senate 942) and be- sides this, gives us about 700 miles of road more, viz: From El Paso to San Antonio, 600 miles; from San Antonio 10 Austin So miles and from Longview to Jefferson about...
