A Butter Factory Case Important to Dairtmbit. A case of considerable importance to dairymen was dealt with at the She.ilhartior Small Debts Court on Sat urday. The Dunmore Butter Factory Company sued George Bigg and Son for £21. The plaintiffs' case was that the defendants were producing share holders of the plaintiff company; and By the articles of association of the \ company the directors had power to % impose a fine or penalty not exceeding 1 in tlie whole £25 on any shareholder ^ disposing of his milk anywhere but to the factory, and in the year 1891 both the directors and shareholders, in a general meeting, passed a resolution imposing a penalty of one farthing per gallon on all milk of shareholders not sent to the factory but disposed ot elsewhere. Wednesday. March 22. From Thursday's Mercury we take an abridged report of the cases heard on tho second day. KEEPING A DISORDERLY HOUSE. Sarah Clarke, an elderly woman, was charged that, she did, at Nowra, on the 1st September and other days, keep a dis- orderly house and brothel. Accused, who was undefended, pleaded not guilty. Sergeant Sykes deposed that he had known accused about six years, during which time she had lived in various parts of Nowra ; in September last she was living in a two-roomed house, and had a daughter named Isabella, about 15 years of age, living with her ; the daughter had left her since the proceedings were insti- tuted ; in consequence of complaints he had frequently cautioned her about the disorderly proceedings in her house ; she said tho only persons who came there were her relatives ; three or four young women and a number of young men were constantly in the habit of frequenting the house ; they frequently quarrelled in the yard, and several young me...
