Alleged Pig Stealing. At the Bairnsdale Police Court, on Fridayl before JMr. J. S. Cooper, P.M., John IR Balfour and Samuel Clark were presented on bail charged with stealing and receiving six pigs, the property of Edwin Desailly. and Digby Haddlinrot, in May last. Mr. J. T. T. Smith prosecuted for the Crown, and Mr. J.'F. Stuart appeared for the deferice. The six pigs concerned in thin case are identical with those for the larcnncy of which Jiioseph Varney now standse. con mitted fnr'trhil. The evidence of Ed?vin Desaily and Dighy Iodilinnot was similar to that giten bytheml at the hearing of, the charge ngailnst Joseph Varrney in .TJne, last, and it is needless to re-publiLh it at0 length. In the Banco Court yesterday, before lthe Chief Justice, Mr. ,T?sticc Iolrnyd, annd Mr. Kerferd, Mr. Leon applied on behalf of the defendant in a case of Randell v. Richardson to set aside a jledgment of Acting-Judge Gaunt, given in the County Conrt at Mornington. The action was hrnoght by Mrs. Rose Randell, the wife of a storekeeper at Hastings, to recover L99 damages from, Mrs. Johanna Richardson, an hotelkeeper at the same place, for slander. The case for the plantit! was that the defendant, being about to leave Hastings, placed in tihe yard of the plartift'shonse. for safety. a box of good,. About a month after wards.
