Mairjimmy. August 24. [Newspaper Article] — Jerilderie Herald and Urana Advertiser — 26 August 1898

iMrairJimuir. - August 21. ?? During the last two weeks or so we have been exceptionally favored by the clerk of the weather, and the falls we have had have proved most beneficial to both the grass and crops. Tast night a few light shows fell, nnd this morning 7 points were registered. To-day it was threatening nil day, and nt-. half-past three this afternoon a heavy thunderstorm hroke over us. and- for half an: hour it literally poured down, registering 101 points making a total of 10S points for to-dnv and Inst night. For heaviness I have not. seen a fall likn it for the pnst throe years. As there is a lot of green timber in this locality it ivonld sncm as if it attracted- the thundeistorms. In my own mind I am quite certnin there has been toa much grei h tim ber felled in the past. The storm to-dnv (ravelled towards Berri gan, about two nnd a half miles south-west of us. The tanks nnd dnms in tlio track must b3 nil- fairly well filled by this. I hear good reports from the local s...
