Russia Alleges Spy Confesses Britain Occupy Leningrad This Year London, Thursday The Leningrad correspondent of the British United Press states that. 26 alleged British spies, of whom four are women, are being tried on a charge of obtaining information for the British Secret Service. One of the accused, named Goyer, who was formerly a Czarist Secret Agent, is said to have confessed that the British Intelligence Service ordered bim to remain in Leningrad during 1927, as British troops would occupy the city.

CATTLE TRADE WITH SINGA PORE In an interview at Singapore Mr C. W. D. Conacher told a repre- sentative of the Singapore Free Press that Vestey Bros, hold twenty million acres of .pastoral lands in Northern Australia carrying several hundred thousand cattle. Mr Conacher said the district where his company's property is situated -is destined to become the chief cattle-producing area in Aus- tralia and was the only one that could ship cattle regularly through- out the year. They found that it was necessary to ship live cattle to the East in order to conform to the re- ligious requirements of the native races. Hill took off in a Fokker monoplane l< Old Glory " for Borne, in an attempt to break the long distance flight record, Toward midnight the plane was sighted over the Atlantic making progress at 100 miles an hour. Phillip Hime, a New York author and journalist, leaped aboard the plane at the moment of its departure and is being carried as a passenger. The Eadio Corporation of America has announced the receipt of , SOS calls from the " Old Glory " plane by the steamers Carmania and Lapland and the steamer Transclavia is heading at full speed to the relief of the aviators. If the attempt had been successful the aviators would have flown 3000 miles over the sea.
