FOOTBALL [Newspaper Article] — The Leader — 15 May 1947

FOOTBALL In the B Grade game between Liver- pool and Riverstone on Sunday the farmer attacked, strongly from the kick oft; and only good defence by the local backs kept them out. Pressure was eased whsn Liverpool was awarded several r ¿na tty kicks. Beck put one over the bar to give us the lead 2-0 at half time, lae offensive was again Riverstone's after thc bréale, both tetons playing well, th* game going from one end of the fi.-ld to the other. Close to time a pen- ally kick allowed Riverstone to equal the store 2-2. B Grade was unlucky not to i ach the finals last season due to a i - rios of drawn games and so far this y. ar they have again played two drawn eames and won two, due mainly to having too many players and too many changes in the composition of the team. This Sunday A and G Grades will rlay Guildford on the latter's ground, b.ses leaving the Post Office at 12.45 p.m. sharp. C and D Grades will go to Blacktown o.\ Saturday for two non-competition matches. President's Cu...

TINY TWINS [Newspaper Article] — The Leader — 15 May 1947

TINY TWINS Twin boys, one weighing 31b 13ozs and the other only 31b 6029, were born in one of the tin huts at Hargreaves Park on Wednesday, 7th May, to Mr. and Mrs. Turner. The tiny infants, whose lives would have been endangered by their remain- ing in the bleak surroundings of the Park, were removed to the Collingwood Private Hospital, where wider the ex- pert care of Sisters Floyd and Garland they are now making excellent progress. The little boys, whom their proud mother has already had baptised Peter and Paul, are the third set of twins brought into the world by Sisters Floyd and Garland since they took over the hospital. Ewing the past week births at the Collingwood have averaged one daily. To Mr. and Mrs. Le...
