General Jfcws. The Tarijore arrived with the Tftigli»h mail on Sunday morning. A movement is on foot to establish a casualty hospital at Port Victor. A man named Hall a fireman on the 1'ort Adelaide Railway fell off the engine on Jan* 14, be having been on duty all the previous day and night. Ue was not much injured but the ease bad drawn attention to the very Ion? hours of work required from many Railway emploj£* greatly to their injury and endangering the safety of the public who must not trust their lives in the hands of men wearied by long overwork. The sum of £450 was sent by the General Committee in Adelaide and £275 by the Wesleyan by the hut mail in aid of the die* tressed in Cornwall. We find that the move ment among the Wesleyans in England for tbe relief fund has resulted in raisiag tbe noble sum of over £4 000. Inquest. An inquest was held at Kooringa on Monday, June 16, to enquire into the cause of the death of Annie Statton before Mr. J. D. Cave, J.P., and a Jnrv, of which Mr. T. Drew was Fore man. ? Edward 8tatten, swam— Am a blacksmith, living in Kooringa, and deceased was my wife. We were married on June 5, and then went to Adelaide and returned on Monday, 9th. My wife was then in good he lth, except that she suffered from a headache caused by tbe journey. After arriving by the last train htd a cup of tea at his mother's, and went from there to her mother's and then home, and went to bed between half-past ten and eleven.
