MURRAY BRIDGE RACES. A Financial Success. [Newspaper Article] — The Mount Barker Courier and Onkaparinga and Gumeracha Advertiser — 18 March 1927

MURRAY BRIDGE RACES: A Financial Success. The Murray Bridge Racing Club is to be complimented on the financial success of the meeting held on Satur day, March 12, after experiencing two successive meetings, in which the cli matic elements bad an adverse effect on the attendance. The day broke nice and warm, but towards ten o'clock a shower started and there were fears that the attendance would be small again. The general arrange ments were in the capable hands of the secretary (Mr. A. V. Pugh), and there waB nothing left undone that could have been desired. The pre sident (Hon. H. D. Young, M.L.C.) was in attendance and gave an eye to every thing connected with the course and the racing. Mr. ...

Now, in South Australia, a good many bulls ore not getting a fair spin, as seme farmers seem toihink that it Is not necessary to protect a tethered.animal from the sun or rain. Section 4 ii) (b) which enacts that anyone who "wantonly, or negligently fails to supply any animal -other than those running at large or ou a Journey with Shelter" is guilty of an act o...
