Co. bid ever signified its intention in any event to bnild tbeir road by the way of Atchison. If I thought that they bad in any way signified tbeir intention to construct tbe road by way of Atchi son, I would not stand np hers and ak for this consent. The gentleman from Doniphan told yon that we wonld compel the H. & St. Jo. R. R. Co. to construct the road 125 miles in Kansas, or that they should not bavo the privilege to pass through tbe Northern tier. Tbe gentleman from Atch ison said no such restriction could be im posed.
