That our city is sibli! to enter tain in the proper way was prop erly demonstrated last week dur ing the ninth annual Reunion of Stonewall Jackson Camp of United Confederate Veterans joined with the County Pair. Early in the week people began to arrive for the celebration and by the second day large crowds were present. Many compli ments about the management and displays were heard, and al together the affair was consider ed to have been as good if not better than any other ever held. The Reunion portion of this annual entertainment is not held for thi! ex-Confederates but for all Union soldiers as well, as the Confederates have long ago laid down the burdenof animosity and are now following the Hag of the reunited Union. There is to bt; something neat in the way of a business block to be built as soon as possible, on the northwest corner of the square on the Hutson lots. The First National Hank has been contemplating building on the corner lot, but the sale of their bank building to W. V. Keith this week has brought them to a speedy decision and things will be hurried as much as pos sible in order to get the new lo cation finished at the earliest possible date. President faster, of the bank, in conversation with The News reporter, stated that plans had not been adopted on account of the recent decision to build but that the building would be built as soon as plans and specifica tions can be had.
