A Visit to Glonsted. As Glensted Lodge, No. 250, A. V. & A. M.. Iiad a promising subject, William F. Williams, (or the myster ies of the third degree last Saturday night and invited the Versailles,,boys" to visit them, the following accepted the invitation: H. F. Abellr 12d Nel son, J. H. H. llaker, C. I). Hunter, J. W. Wilson, W. K. Gold and the editor of the Rkpuhlican, the other brothers who had promised to go be ing scared out by the threatening weather. We arrived on time, and alter a social confab with the Glensted brethren the work proceeded and Bro. Williams was raised to the sub lime degree of a Master Mason in due and ancient form, the Glensted brothers being assisted by brothers Nelson and Baker. The funeral services of Charles U. Petty were held at the residence of his father, Geo. W. Petty, Versailles, Monday afternoon, June 7, 1909. It Was one of the largest attended we have seen in this city. Charlie Petty, as all knew him, was one of the most popular young men in the county. No one was more generally loved by old and young than he was. He was one of those whole-souled, big-hearted, good-humored, optomistic men that it is a pleasure to be with.
