It came upon him, he tells bis friends, as a low type of typhoid, but soon de veloped into m malignant typhus, end then the struggle for life be gan. A few months ago Constable Fitzpatriclt endeavored to arrest a young crim inal, Daniel Kelly, at Oreta, on a ehargo of horse stealing, but a rescue was made by the prisoner's brother, Ed ward Kelly, who shot the consta ble in the wrist. Tho two Kellys, for whom a reward was offered, have since been at large in the ranges forming the watershed of the King and Broken rivers.
