A Few Chapters Of Dawson County's Political History. FOURTH CHAPTER I shall again briefly refer to Mr. Lindsay's treachery to his friends in the Republican convention held Oct. 1, 1910. On the evening before the convention Mr. Lindsay called his friends on the second ward delegation (and this included the whole delega tion) together in his office to consult? with them concerning a temporary chairman, and it was then and there agreed and understood that Mr. Lind say should and would accept the temp orary chairmanship of the convention. But without apprising the delegation of any of his movements that worthy gentleman immediately set to work with the hybrid delegation from the first ward to upset the plan so formed, and he succeeded in throwing down his friends, who are such no more. What was his reason for so doing? Simply a case of cold feet. And possi bly thinking also that his second ward adherents would make no objection, or would not know enough to take excep tion to such double...
