A one ninety-sixth interest in the Ophir <"laim "Silver Mine" was sold to-day for $lO,OOO cash. At this rate, the whole claim is worth nine hundred and sixty thousand dollars. Chas. p. Moore *»s put forward by the Wellersidc of the House, for temporary Chairman, and Senator Kirkpatrick by the Latham wing, roll of counties was called. [For tliu Daily Appeal.] Mountain Corrrnpon(lence&amp;lt; SUCKER FLAT. Feb. 28. EDITOR APPEAL :—The recent improvements in mining at this place have given a fresh impulse to all kinds of business. During the last few months, L. B. Clark, of Smartsville, has taken hold of some of the claims oil the south side of the Flat—being the north sideof the hill, —in front of the Empire Ranch. These claims have been abandoned since 185G; the parties who owned them at that time, having an imperfect knowledge ot mining, after expending many thousands ot' dollars in labor and money, in making open cuts, running tunhels and putting in flumes, which, at that day, where only from 12 to 1(5 inches iu width and using onlv from 30 to tiO incite* of water, which would wash but a small quantity of dirt in comparison with the present mode of operation.
