Jolin Manning was placed before the Bench charixed with drinkeniess and indecency, on Wednesday afternoon. lames Austin, Eq., stated that as he was passing the Bonded Stores, at the Wharf, on W3dnesday last, he observed the defendant in a I very indecent position. Tois was in the middle of ihe day, and he might have been observed by numerous persons who were psEing at the time. Captain Addis ordered him to pay a fine of £5, or one month's imprisonmeat, remarking that h:ehPt the power, if he chose to exercise it, of doubling the fine or punishment, and trusted the leniency now shown him would have a warning effect upon him for the futnre.
