MOHE CATTLE LOSSES. FOLLOWING closely upon the terrible ex perience of tlic cattic steamer Anerley comes the story of another disastrous cattle shipment by the, French stoamer Maroc. Tho Maroc left Newcastlo for Noumea with a consignment of sheep and cattle on Thursday last, and had the mis fortude to got caught in the gales that have raged along the coast during the past few days. The mortality among the live stock was dreadful. Of 160jhoad of cattle and 151 sheep shipped at Newcastle there were only 35 bullocks and 111 sheep remaining alivo on board when the steamer arrived in Port Jackson on Tuesday aftornoon. It was just such another experience as that which the Anerley lmd. The Maroc had got only 20 miles off the land when she ran into the storm, and within a few hours the . steamer was in the thick of a terrific gale.
