i How Germany Hates. i We have a good deal of literature telling of the Allies' point of view in the present struggle, and the publication of the German White Paper gave us the official expla nation of the causes of the war; but, apart from stray references in the cablegrams, little has been said about the mental attitude of the press and the public in Ger many. LONGERENONG-. The Principal of tho Longeren ong College reports that during December 275 points of rain were registered. The fallow, summer crops, orchard, vineyard, and vegetable garden considerably benefitted, but the pastures slu>w only moderato improvement. L is noted that paddocks that have never been cultivated provide by far tho best grazing at the present time. The harvesting was comploii-.i early in tho month. Federation was the only variety to yield a fair quantity of grain ; the yield being (5 bushels per acre.
