ADVANCES IN SURGERY Anatomist's Experiences in London Dr. Hughes Jones, lecturer in ana tomy at the Melbourne University, Is returning by the Largs Bay, which berthed at the Outer Harbor on Satur day, after having qualified for the Fellowship of the Royal College of Sur geons in London. He said the most interesting medical work he had seen in London was by Dr. Donald Hunter, who is investigat ing flbro-cystfc disease of the bone, which caused bone to change into a fibrous tissue. He had discovered that by removing tumors in the para thyroid gland the diseases could be checked. Dr. Jones was also in terested in the Bendien serum for the diagnosis of cancer. He said that by injecting the serum the following blood tests gave positive proof whether the patient had cancer or not, but it was impossible to discriminate between the various forms of cancer. Those could probably be determined after further Investigation.
