ADEIONQ. (from ode correspondent.) November 5th. — Since I last wrote we have had a copious fall of rain, which has come most opportunely, and was all that was needed to insure us a plentiful supply of grass and a good harvest. Nothing worth recording has happened of late, business is very slack, and really the place looks quite empty and deserted. We are, however, accustomed to such temporary fits of prostration here, and a revival will doubtless soon take place. Our vigilant chief officer. Sergeant Egan, has captured a notorious Chinese thief, who one night last week robbed Mr. TurnbuU's residence of a quantity of articles which were found in his possession. This is not the first capture of the kind Sergeant Egan has made, and the diligence with which he has hunted after the night prowlers that have of late infested Adelong deserves commendation.
