For somo timo past there lias boeu a larfjo numbor of wolves nblicod in this county, but littlo was thought of tho increase, for tho pooplo who saw thorn siinplv thought that tho ani mals woro showing themselves more frequently than usual. It has de veloped, however, that thorp has been a rapid increase of tho animals and they aro now in such numbers as to become a nuisancoto tho farm ers. For tho past threo years thero has boon littlo hunting in this comi ty and tho result is that tho wolves now rove in bands all ovor the coun try. It is no unusual thing for tho farmers to seo soveralef tho big gray fellows every morning as thoy got out to work. In somo instances they have become so bold that thoy go directly to the houses and prowl around tho yards during thoday tiino. Word came to Mr. Gerry's Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to ChiMron in New York the other day that Mrs. Aloeia Florino Hon derson was cruelly abusing Helen Christ ono Dennis, the 6-year-old daughter of Alecia'a fourteenth hus band. Mrs. Henderson is now living with her fifteenth husband, and the re sults of those numerous matrimo nial alliances aro fourteen living children, and Helen is the youngest. Her present and fifteenth husband is Thomas J. Hondorson, a master house painter, who married Mrs. Dennis iu 1SS9. Ho dislikes chil dren, and the six youngsters that camo with his wife displeas ed him.
