Dowdy, public ad ministrator of Stoddard county, was arrested here on complaint of his bondsmen, charged with embezzling money from the Slelert estate. Tho misappropriation charg'ed aggregates ubout $2,000. Tills arrest came as the uftertnath of a voluntary assignment that J. A. Dowdy & Co. made Friday. This firm bus been conducting a general mer cantile business nt Dexter, and was one of the oldest firms In southeast Missouri. Ills liabilities will reach In the neighborhood of $25,000, with as nets of possibly $5,000.
